It may not make any immediate sense, but being disgusted with Livejournal for allowing ad-creep, I've wanted to create a back-up blog; Vox may be covered in sticky banners and flashy annoying-arse sponsorship shout-outs, but at least it's upfront about it.  You know what you're getting.  With Livejournal, paid accounts may soon start involving angry Russians with large clubs coming to chat your kneecaps about Nokia phones, or CreamyWhip[tm].  If I end up seeing adverts via my lj paid account, I will drop it and come here and get the same thing for free; meanwhile I'll post from time to time - I like the look and feel of Vox, now I've explored a bit. It'll be handy to have a back-up blog.

And I've snagged my preferred user-name   I'll probably make most of my posts here friends-locked (as I do on LJ) so add me if you know me!
